Some of these I haven’t visited in ages, or I briefly checked them out, but it seems there aren’t many websites starting with an H, O, Q or U…
Yes, I’m a bit bored.
Edit: Looks like it’s picking up: Sam Brown, Wil Linssen, Marc Roberts, Thomas Decrick, Thomas Maier, Andy Clarke, Bradford Dielman, Yaili, Owen Gregory, Elliot Jay Stocks, Matthew Maber, Alex Blundell, Ian P. Hines, Christoph Zillgens, Jose Burgos jr., Bert Timmermans, Edmundo Junior, The Standardistas, Anthony, Joshua Brewer, Matt Kempster, Pat Dryburgh and many more (not adding them here anymore, need to get some actual work done) made their own list.

I’ve been regularly doing the same experiment with Google suggest. The last major change I noticed was Facebook overtaking Fox News. For some strange reason, the letter “R” doesn’t house any real big shots.

It was quite noble of you to self-censor & exclude the copious amount of porn sites that actually showed up first.

Tim,
None for ‘H’. I’m shocked, I thought you’d have checked out HTML5Doctor?! (he says, shamelessly plugging a site he writes for… I’l get my coat)

How could your G result NOT be Google?
Marc

I’ve got about 15 results under “G” before Google comes up. Kind of odd considering how much I search Google….

Tried it myself, back in January, but the results were not quite what I was expecting

It’s interesting how Firefox’s and Chrome’s address bars work differently. Chrome uses the 1st letter of the site’s domain whereas Firefox will choose a popular visited website whose url contains the typed letter. (sorry for not being very clear…)
For example with letter “R” :
Chrome = http://www.random.org (“R” is the 1st letter, though I visited this site only once!)
Firefox = http://www.google.com/reader (there are 2 “R” in the url)
Anyway here’s my (french) list too :-) : http://bbxdesign.com/2009/11/27/url-abc-lalphabet-de-votre-barre-dadresse/

I’ve added my list now on my blog: http://prandall.com/2009/12/08/url-abc/
On my blog I also show how to style an ordered list and use CSS to display it as capitalised letters.
