  • Pictory - San Francisco

Twenty-four photo stories, four quotes, and an infographic describing the city by the bay.

Just stunning! Pictory and The Big Picture are my 2 favorite photo blogs right now, check them out.

  • Powered by Fusion
  • CSS Animations

I’d like to thank Drew McLellan for inviting me for the second time to write an article for the amazing 24ways. In “CSS Animations”, I go over the history of the latest CSS goodness, explain how to create a basic spinner without using GIF images, Javascript or Flash, and have some other examples.

  • A New Year's Resolution

So, I say on 1st January 2010 let’s make it our New Year’s resolution to create something different, something special or even ground-breaking! Make it your goal to break the mold of current web design trends and light the way for your fellow web designer comrades!

Yes, I’m going to link to every 24ways article I love.

  • Project52

Project52 is a personal challenge geared toward getting fresh content on your website. The goal is to write at least 1 new article per week for 1 year.

Brilliant! Hopefully this will actually push me hard enough to write once a week. (via)

  • The Clear War

Designers should be arbiters of the truth: They should be the kind of people who stand up and tell it like it is, and that usually calls for courage.

  • Type-Inspired Interfaces

Great article by Daniel Mall on how to draw inspiration for interfaces from the type you choose to use.

  • Improving the YouTube Player

Matthew Buchanan wrote a small piece of Javascript that magically makes embedded YouTube videos look a lot better (like here)

  • A week with Google Chrome

Nik Fletcher has a great write-up on his experiences with Google Chrome. Actually, he convinced me to do the same. 2 days in and loving it so far! But maybe that’s just because it’s a shiny new toy…

Note: I do miss ClickToFlash, 1Password and LittleSnapper integration…

Edit: Nik posted a handy bookmarklet to make Chrome play nice with LittleSnapper.

  • Have a Field Day with HTML5 Forms

Year 5 of 24ways is only at day 3, and it’s already better than ever. Inayaili de León (or Yaili) teaches us how to markup a form with HTML5.

  • Webkit CSS Animations

I think this is the most simple example/explanation on CSS animations I’ve found so far. Play with this I will.
